Privacy policy
How Texas Advanced BioResearch (“TXBioResearch,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use txbioresearch.com.
Effective October 25, 2026
1. Information we collect
Information you give us.
- Account details: your name, institution or lab name, email address, and password when you register. Your password is handled by our sign-in provider (Google Firebase Authentication); we never see or store it.
- Profile and shipping details: the shipping address you save in My Account or enter at checkout.
- Orders: the products, quantities, prices, discounts, promo codes, store credit, shipping option, payment method you choose, order notes, and any tracking number we add.
- Messages: what you send through our contact form (name, institution, email, message) and any emails you send us.
- Research-use certifications: your confirmation, at sign-up, at checkout, and on the contact form, that you are acquiring products for laboratory research use only.
Information collected automatically.
- Account activity: when your account was created and when you last signed in.
- Technical data: like any website, the services that deliver our pages and files receive your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. We do not use this to build a profile of you.
- Browser storage: our sign-in provider stores a token in your browser to keep you signed in. Our site also stores a few small session-only markers (for example, whether the intro animation has played). We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
- Visit counts: to understand how the site is used, we keep anonymous daily totals: how many pages were viewed, which pages, what kind of site sent the visit (for example, a search engine), and whether it was a phone or a computer. To count each browser once per day, a random “seen today” marker is kept in your browser’s storage. These totals contain no names, email addresses, IP addresses, or cookies, are not linked to your account, and are not shared with anyone.
Payment information. We do not collect or store credit card numbers. Orders are paid by bank transfer, Bitcoin, or another method arranged with us directly, outside this website.
2. How we use information
- To create and secure your account and limit catalog access to registered researchers.
- To process, fulfill, ship, and support your orders, including stock and backorder handling.
- To send order emails such as order confirmations, shipping notices with tracking numbers, and cancellation notices.
- To answer your messages and requests.
- To run promo codes, store credit, and our affiliate program.
- To keep records of research-use certifications and to enforce our Terms & conditions.
- To protect the site, our customers, and our business, and to comply with legal obligations.
We do not send marketing emails unless you ask us to, and we do not sell your personal information.
3. How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us run the site, and only as needed for them to do so:
- Google Firebase and Google Cloud: sign-in, our database (accounts, orders, carts, store credit), and order processing.
- Email services: EmailJS and our email host (Namecheap Private Email) send order emails from our address; FormSubmit delivers contact form messages and new-order notifications to our inbox.
- Website delivery: GitHub Pages hosts the site; Google Fonts and public content delivery networks (such as jsDelivr) serve fonts and code libraries. A QR-code service generates the Bitcoin payment code, which contains only our payment address.
- Shipping carriers: your name and shipping address, to deliver your order.
Affiliate program. If you use a promo code that belongs to an affiliate, that affiliate earns store credit based on your order. Affiliates can see the order number and the credit earned. They cannot see your name, email, address, or order contents.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to valid legal process, to protect the rights, property, or safety of TXBioResearch, our customers, or others, or as part of a merger, sale, or transfer of our business.
4. How long we keep information
We keep account information while your account is open. We keep order records, including research-use certifications, for as long as needed for business, tax, accounting, and legal purposes, even after an account is closed. Contact form messages are kept in our email for as long as needed to respond and follow up.
5. Your choices and rights
- Access and update: you can view and update your name, institution, and shipping address in My Account, and see your orders and store credit there.
- Delete or get a copy: email info@txbioresearch.com from your account email to ask for a copy of your information or to close your account and delete it. We will confirm the request comes from you, and we may keep order records we are required to keep.
- State privacy rights: depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information. Contact us to exercise them; we will not treat you differently for doing so.
6. Security
Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication. Database access rules limit each customer to their own account, orders, and store credit, and limit store administration to our administrator account. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you think your account has been misused.
7. Who this site is for
This site is intended for qualified researchers and institutions purchasing products for laboratory research use only. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Where information is processed
We are based in Dallas, Texas. Our service providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our site and services change. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make significant changes, we will post a notice on the site.
10. Contact us
